Ours hostels in comparison with European expencive. Probably, because while it is not enough of them.
The first Russian hostel has opened in 1992 in St.-Petersburg. The national hostel-association (Russian Youth Hostel Assosiation RYHA) has been based one year later. Today it unites placing means in St.-Petersburg, Moscow, Great Novgorod, Petrozavodsk and Irkutsk. (далее…)

In a translation from English hostel is a hostel. Frenchmen speak: «Auberge de jeunesse», Germans — «Jugendherberge». The hostel in understanding of Russians for many years has got a negative shade. Therefore, speaking about modern hostels-hotels of the western sample, it is more preferable to use a source language. Then there will be no undesirable associations with the dirty ladders, broken santeknic and other “delights” of the Soviet hostels.

Last sociological interrogation has shown that third of our fellow citizens has preferred independent travel last year. Abroad very many and for a long time travel independently. Russians only should it study. Recently such independent tourists from Russia cease to be a rarity in streets of the European capitals. The trips deprived of the plan and the preliminary organisation, bring much more pleasure and impressions, than ready tours.   (далее…)
